Forensic Fluids Laboratories Launches SARS-CoV-2 Antibodies Serological Testing
Forensic Fluids Laboratories (FFL) today announced it has begun testing for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies via serum to further understand a person’s history of COVID-19 exposure. FFL, a CLIA certified drug testing laboratory located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, is now able to test serum samples for the Immunoglobulin G (IgG) and Immunoglobulin M (IgM) antibody; and also has a Total Antibody test that is FDA approved. The test results allow those who are symptomatic and asymptomatic to make better informed decisions for continuing on with their lifestyle activities. Furthermore, FFL has the capacity to run a high number of tests, at a rate of 1,500-4,000 per 8 hour shift. “With proven results in our pilot testing, we want to expand our testing to additional first responders and medical personnel who are on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, including hospital and ambulance personnel, EMTs, fire/rescue, public safety and police officers,” said Bridget Lorenz… Continue reading

Forensic Fluids Laboratories Lays Off 16, Opens Five Sales Positions
Forensic Fluids Laboratories Inc. unfortunately needed to lay off 16 employees, with severance, due to the loss of a large state contract. The Leadership Team made the very difficult decision at the end of 2019 after the loss of a state contract and a decrease in revenue. Our FFL core value of Find Better Ways is carried out in many forms, one of which is supporting our team members to attend professional development opportunities. Two of our team members attended a two-day workshop at Edward Lowe Foundation in Cassopolis, MI on High-Impact HR for Small Business. Facilitators Dino Signore and Amy Cell provided stimulating concepts in an open environment which invited collaboration for individuals from three attending companies. Participants discussed their experiences and issues and shared methods which they had used to improve upon current practices. We came away understanding that culture, the soul of your business, and structure, the bones of your business, must be in place and functioning consistently for your talent acquisition and talent retention to be successful.
