Position Summary
As a full-time Medical Billing Coordinator, this position will be responsible for the full revenue cycle. This includes processes to ensure laboratory charges are entered accurately, claims are submitted to the patient’s insurance provider in a timely manner, and payments are posted correctly, as well as professional patient interactions regarding their balances.
As a Medical Billing Coordinator at FFL, you will:
- Coordinate with third-party billing company with resolution of billing questions and follow up on unpaid claims.
- Review claims for accuracy and submit claims for drug testing services to insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, and private payers in a timely manner.
- Investigate and resolve denied or rejected claims by coordinating with insurance companies.
- Provide excellent customer service; respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner to ensure continued customer satisfaction.
- Reconcile payments with insurance remittances and identify any inconsistencies.
- Perform insurance/patient payment posting and resolve payment transaction discrepancies using collection procedures and adjusting patient accounts when necessary.
- Ability to recognize and resolve front/back-end claim denials from assigned payers and all others as determined necessary by the Team Lead.
- Knowledge of appropriate third-party liability (TPL) and government websites (i.e. CHAMPS, HMO Medicaid websites preferred), and working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines, high volumes, and multiple interruptions.
- Adhere to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) confidentiality guidelines.

What valuable experience and skills will you bring to the table?
- You have earned a degree (bachelor’s preferred) with a minimum of four (4) years of experience in Medical Billing with a CPB or CMB certification required.
- You have experience setting up Medical Billing software and are proficient in Excel, Word, and Adobe (or Foxit).
- You have hands-on experience with data processing, office procedures, and telephone and business etiquette.
- You work independently, manage time effectively, proactively problem solve, and exercise good judgement and initiative.
- You have a high level of accuracy, excellent data entry and word processing skills, and are well-organized.
