Laboratory Technologist – Screening Lab

Time commitment: Full Time, Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm
As a Laboratory Technologist at FFL, you will:
- work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, team-oriented high-throughput production laboratory to meet production goals. Accuracy is our number one Core Value.
- stand on a hard floor most of the day (6-7 hours) and walk, sit, stoop, and perform repetitive motion for prolonged periods of time.
- assist Specimen Processing Coordinator with the receipt, opening, sorting, logging in, and processing of samples.
- operate and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment including multi-channel pipettes to process samples using ELISA screening and other methods.
- consistently follow laboratory processes as defined by SOPs to ensure the accuracy of test results and to maintain CLIA and other certifications.
- always maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
- always keep the lab area safe and clean.
- wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and demonstrate good laboratory practices (GLP).
- assist other Laboratory Technologists or Certifying Scientists as necessary.
- stock and organize laboratory materials, clean and disinfect work areas, remove trash, and clean equipment.
- perform tasks in other departments as necessary to support the organization.

What valuable experience and skills will you bring to the table?
- You have earned a bachelor’s degree in forensic science, a science-related field, or are a certified Medical Technologist or MLT.
- You meet CLIA educational requirements of 24 semester hours of science: 6 Biology, 6 Chemistry, and the remaining 12 in a combination of the two.
- You have an excellent work history with experience in a fast-paced environment; production laboratory preferred.
- You work independently or in a team, manage time effectively, follow instructions, and exercise good judgment.
- You must pass a drug test and be able to lift 20-40 pounds.
