Director of National Sales
Position Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Head of Sales to lead our Sales Team of 11 and craft the next stage of our Sales journey. As a player-coach and leading by example, you will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing sales team (90%), while also driving your own sales (10%).
Key Responsibilities
- Build and drive a high performance, high accountability, data-driven, evidence-based culture to achieve and exceed sales goals.
- Provide strong coaching and mentoring through an understanding of our sales, our go to market strategy, and our sales methods. This includes coaching on territory planning, prospecting, route mapping, getting samples in the Lab after signing up a customer, and building pipelines, through support across each stage of the sales cycle.
- Design, implement, and maintain effective sales processes, methods, and protocols. Ensure team members have the resources they need to be successful.
- Present and sell company services to new and existing customers.
- Ride along with each sales team member to coach and support the team to success.
- Conduct weekly pipeline forecast meetings with each team member and report to Leadership (using Salesforce – our CRM).
- Stay current with our services, industry news, updates, trends and best practices (which includes industry pricing and insurance reimbursements).
- As we grow, you will attract, hire, and retain high achieving Sales Reps in all roles.
Team Responsibilities
- Promote exceptional customer service and teamwork.
- Answer the phone and customer questions with professionalism.
- Help the lab in other areas besides Sales, if needed.
- Complete projects on time and within budget.
- Attend Leadership meetings and learn the EOS model to drive company growth.
To be Effective in this role you:
- Have 7+ years’ experience in an active sales role, and 5+ years’ experience leading and building a successful sales team.
- Possess previous experience in the healthcare industry.
- Hold team members accountable for their Key Performance Indicators and customer satisfaction.
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
- Ideally have worked for a start-up or small company.
- Have a true passion for sales and people (we want leaders who love what they do and inspire their team).
- Must have strong organizational and communication skills, manage time well, be data driven, and can map efficient routes. Must hold a valid drivers’ license with a good driving history.
- Are an energetic, upbeat, entrepreneurial, and tenacious team player.
- Hold a genuine interest in our services and mission.
- Must achieve targets set for each financial year.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop and drive for long periods of time, able to lift 20 to 40 pounds, follow all confidentiality and HIPAA privacy requirements, and pass a drug test.
